HEY! I have some really exciting news, I'm so excitedddddd. I am REALLY EXCITED.
I will once again be subjecting myself to crying and making my eyes bleed (all in good fun, mind you) by drawing another map. And if you haven't gathered already from the CRAZY image above, it's going to be of BERLIN!
I'm already buzzing for this, it's an amazing city and there is so much insane stuff going on there. So yeah, follow me on Twitter if you want to keep up with each tantrum, cup of coffee, and all-nighter I will be pulling. WAHEY!
Hello! Hope you all had a nice Christmas, and happy 2013!
I've been doing all sorts since I last blogged, mainly eating and crying at Christmas TV. I've also been working on a really fun commission, unfortunately I can't show anything as I've been signed to secrecy. I'm also working with some other amazing illustrators on the project and hopefully it will look awesome when it's all finished, so keep an eye out.
Anyway, I'm going to try to do as many Music Monday posts as I can from now on, I got a bit behind on it all BUT it's a new year and I'm determined to be more organised.
This piece was drawn after listening to Punks Jump Up - 'Feels Good', and there is a bit of a story behind this one. Basically I was birthday drunk in Lightbox in Vauxhall, when I spotted David Andersson, one half of Punks Jump Up. I started ranting about how much I loved their music (which I DO) and ended up giving him my business card. They emailed me and said they liked my work and I now have finally drawn this for them!
Here's the song, it's amazing. And you should download it and all the remixes as well because they are really good too.
Hi everyone, so here is the Hand Drawn Map of New York that I've been working on for what seems like FOREVER! It was once again commissioned by the lovely Evermade.com and was just as hard as the Map of London, if not harder... Anyway, I'll let the images speak for themselves as I have lost the ability to think about anything other than buildings. I hope you like it, New York is a super cool city, and if you wanna buy one you can pick one up HERE.
Thanks to New York for being a great city and surviving Hurricane Sandy.
Thanks to Evermade.com
Thanks to all the people who know me for putting up with me for the duration of this. <3 p="p" you.="you.">
Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while but I'm in the crazy part of the NYC map, where I shut myself in my room and shout at anyone who tries to talk to me! Anyway, just thought I'd update you on some COOL stuff. I've been working with the creative agency RKCR Y&R for several months now, they have been making my map interactive for Visit London and London Partners, the official promotions for London!
I was also commissioned to illustrate a corgi named Rufus, who is also featured on the website. If you find Rufus in my map then you can win a 5-night trip to London!
Anyway, it was a lot of fun working with RKCR Y&R, and if you want to have a look at the site, you can go HERE.
Hi everyone, it's Monday again and I've been really rubbish with the consistency of my blog posts recently, but that's what I'm like, so get off my back. I've been really busy doing the New York map, plus loads of other stuff which is all top secret at the moment but will be revealed in due course.
I'm currently in the middle of nowhere in Wales, staying at my parent's new house, because I needed a break from boisterous noisy London, where everyone has decided to drill EVERYTHING - thanks for that, Southwark Council.
On the plus side, I recently went to the AOI Images 36 book launch because my image "Great Expectations" (below) was chosen to appear in their book. It was held at Somerset House (which, coincidentally is also my place of work) and there was lots of lovely free wine AND I got a goody bag with chocolate and pencils in it, AND I got to see my tutor and old uni pals. It was a fun night, like being at the Oscars but with actual nice fun people instead of pretentious arseholes.
Anyway, I'm going to go back to hand-crippling drawing now, so BYEEEEE x
p.s. You can buy the Images 36 book HERE or there was a rumour going round at the launch that you can purchase it from Waterstones - COOLIO!
It's Monday again, what's going on?! Time is moving too fast these days. Anyway, this week I've decided to illustrate the modern classic 'Single Ladies' by Beyonce. I hope you like what I've drawn.
This week I have been drinking wayyyyy too much cheap coffee and trying to get into a regular work routine. I've finished working as a gallery assistant for Somerset House and I'm trying to be a really organised illustrator. I bought a whiteboard and I've been making list upon list of stuff to do so I don't forget any of it. I also bought a hoover this week, LIKE A REAL ADULT. I did choose a pink one with a face on it though, so I'm still totally *quirky*.
It's Music Monday time! Here's this week's interpretation of the song 'Good Life' by Inner City. I saw a really good documentary the other day called 'How Clubbing Changed The World', and this song was on it and I remembered how cool it is.
This week I have mainly been frittering around figuring out map stuff and researching everything. I'm also on a mission trying to make myself like olives, so I can feel like a real adult. I also missed Carnival, which sucks, but it has been raining like a bitch so whatever.
